Secure File Transfer Server
CDE projects increasingly require the use of data for which there are strict access requirements. To address this need, the CDE Secure File Transfer Server has been designed to provide a means to securely transfer sensitive data files. It meets the needs of CDE staff that send and receive sensitive data to and from external clients and collaborators. The server provides strictly controlled access to data.
Acceptable Use
By registering on this site, users of the CDE Secure File Transfer Server consent to the terms of acceptable use as laid out in this statement.
All user activity is logged and monitored by CDE system administrators. Individuals using this system in excess of their authority or for purposes other than secure document transfer are subject to having all their services revoked and being reported to CDE executive leadership. Any illegal services run by a user or attempts to interrupt services will be reported to appropriate law enforcement agencies.
Users agree to safeguard account passwords, use strong passwords, securely manage the data they download, and secure their workstations and any external storage devices to the degree their data usage agreements require. Users must not save passwords on local systems or in their browsers.
Access to Secure Data
The purpose of the CDE Secure File Transfer Server is for secure data transfer, not long-term storage. All data on this server is deleted periodically using a secure removal program. Data is purged 14 days after it is deposited. All data uploaded and downloaded to the secure server is encrypted in transit. Users have access only to the files they have uploaded or files that have been sent as a secure delivery to their account. User accounts on the CDE Secure File Transfer Server are valid as long as they are actively being used, otherwise after 380 days of inactivity the user account will be automatically removed.
JRE Recommendation
To enhance the file transfers, it is highly recommended to have the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) installed and integrated with your browser on your system.
